About Timothy Cage


Before launching his consultancy in 1993, Tim was Vice President, Communications Training Manager, for Burson-Marsteller, a worldwide public relations/public affairs agency, counseling chief executive officers, managers, and spokespersons. Prior to that, Tim was senior associate at an international communications skills training company, consulting politicians and business executives. Tim has been an instructor in the Department of Speech Communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, teaching business and professional communications, public speaking and oral interpretation courses. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in marketing, and from the University of North Carolina with an M.A. in Communication Studies.

Tim currently lectures for public relations and business communication courses at New York University. He has also taught oral communication and interpersonal behavior courses for Cornell University's Industrial and Labor Relations Cooperative Extension Program. Tim is an original member and former chair of the Advisory Board for the University of North Carolina's Department of Communication Studies Advisory Board and is a member of the University of Illinois President's Council and the UNC Chancellor's Circle and Dean's Club. Tim is also President of The Board for Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity in New York City, with more than 20 years of service.
