About Timothy Cage

Before launching his consultancy in 1993, Tim was vice president for Burson-Marsteller (Burson Cohn & Wolfe), a global public relations/public affairs agency, counseling CEOs, managers, and spokespersons. Prior to that, Tim worked at an international communication skills training company consulting politicians and business executives. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Business (Marketing) and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with an M.A. in Communication.

Tim is also co-founder of Living Proof Advocacy, a communications training and consulting company that helps purpose-driven individuals and organizations advocate for positive change by unleashing the power of personal stories.

Tim was a guest lecturer for public relations and business communication courses at New York University for more than 20 years. He has also taught business and professional communication, public speaking, oral communication and interpersonal behavior courses in the Department of Communication at the University of North Carolina and for Cornell University's Industrial and Labor Relations Program. Tim is an original member and former chair of the Communication Studies Advisory Board at the University of North Carolina. A past board president for Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity in New York City, Tim remains an active supporter with more than 25 years of service.
